As an artist Craigie has always been interested in colour and mark making – capturing the beauty from the landscape that surrounds her. At times Craigie’s compositions will include the whole landscape and other times just close ups…fragments of the bigger picture.

Whilst her work responds initially to the absolute here and now of her surroundings, with organic and responsive line drawings of shape and form. Craigie’s paintings, from those sketches, then evolve when she returns to those drawings in her studio, where they then take on the essence of that moment.

Capturing Suffolk, an area where she grew up makes Craigie feel truly connected to somewhere for both herself and her family.
