Inspired by the endless interpretations and possibilities of abstract art, Alan Yaffe doesn’t always have a plan for the outcome of his paintings.
Yaffe is excited by the creative process that goes into producing a painting and doesn’t want to limit his imagination by focusing on representational subjects. Instead, by applying paint to the canvas in layers, Yaffe allows the composition to develop by building up texture and colour until arriving at an end point, which can often take him by surprise in an amazing and uplifting way.
