Painting from her home in Winchester, Pearce’s series is inspired by Native American sun worship.

Influenced by how light can lift spirits, Pearce’s canvases are first completely covered in acrylic, which is sometimes mixed with a gel medium to create texture.

She then maps out her sun-like spherical composition before applying gold and silver leaf in order to maximize the reflection of light that she hopes shines on even the darkest areas of a space.
