Monique is a Belgian mixed media artist, living and working in Brussels. She creates intriguing textures with a wide assortment of materials, putting them together to make striking abstract works of art.

Monique chooses texturally interesting surfaces to work on, such as canvas, recycled cardboard or ruffled fabric. Onto these materials she will then work in layers, collaging prints, x-rays or tissue amongst other things and then add further texture by scratching or painting onto the work. She often adds more industrial ingredients such as concrete and sand to give her art additional depth and relief.
