Alan Perriman
Perriman has always felt a personal connection with the sky, which he explores further in this series.
Reflecting the mood he was in when he painted them. The skies range from the soft to the miserable to the euphoric to the timid to the slightly sinister.
Perrimans process involves rapidly blocking out the main colours in a way that is almost calligraphic. He then applies multiple glazes and layers of thicker paint, working with both transparent and opaque colours. Perriman puts as much emphasis on removing paint as he does on adding it, as this helps build subtle textures and effects the light and space of the work.
