Ledent is an expressive painter, living and working in Belgium. Inspired by Mattisse, his colour pallet is vivid and bold and his work offers hints of landscapes both urban and rural.

Colour is the most important element in his work, offering him the perfect vehicle with which to express his feeling of liberation; a sense that is central to his practice. Quoting Mattisse, he says "Colour is perhaps more liberating than drawing."
