Jack is originally from a fishing village in Fife and now lives and works in Worcester.

This collection of ?water abstracts? is inspired by looking over the side of a boat at the underwater patterns created by light.

Jack determines the composition of each piece through an initial sketch and thin acrylic underpainting. The work is then thickly painted in oils, using a palette knife, fingers and even a paint scraper, allowing the original idea to develop as the work progresses.
