From Peking originally, Qun started painting at the age of eight and trained in traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy. He moved to France after his studies, where he discovered the abstract landscapes of Nicholas de Staël whose work became a great source of inspiration.

His angular marks and lines coupled with his muted colour palette results in work that is subtle and almost organic in its feeling. Qun is inspired by what is around him and will break down images, abstracting them and adding his own style and interpretation.
