It is the individual reactions of people to my images that inspire me to continue expanding my own photographic ideas; giving visual pleasure, forcing others to ’take another look’, letting their mind question what their eyes see in a totally different way to their neighbour.
The work is best described as "different"; Abstract Photography with a strong leaning towards graphics, often inspired by naturally occurring phenomena and people’s unrelated comments and concepts. The viewer can see many different images within the initial impression.
A range of photographic techniques, conventional and "off the wall" are employed. Some of the creative ideas have undergone much research and development, through experimentation in the studio, before a final series is shot. A simple idea from an everyday visual event can end up as a very complex studio lighting set up, with many hand made props and pieces of equipment used to bring out the best in the concept.
