Having studied Fine Art both at The University of Leeds and Leeds College of Art and Design, Rachel considers the immediate environment a substantial source of impact for her pieces.
Rachel is never certain how each piece will be resolved or what the end-product will be since they are not planned. Each is an individual journey and by that an expedition into the unknown. Rachel always aspires to an element of grace and flow of line. Harmony, elegance of colour and the balance and complexity of organic patterns are intrinsic. Forms and contours have an instinctive draw, work may look obviously abstract to the naked eye, but by using a circle or spiral, the scale and delicacy of the work reinforce the potential for a reaction of awe and beauty, a celebration of life itself.........
